Story of the Carrot

After deciding to stay the “winter” in Maine, Brenda and Alan thought they might be snowed in and starve. So like any self-sufficient hippies from the back to nature 60’s they decided to buy bulk food, fill a freezer and store food. Following a carrot picking machine at Prout’s Farm in Bowdoinham they filled the back of their Volkswagen with carrots. They stored them in sand in the root cellar. That was the winter they decided on a name for the company.

Carrots were everywhere and they needed a sign to hang vertically from their mailbox, knowing it would be small they wanted something visual and carrots are visual. Thus Carrot Signs was started.
